I love finding pictures online that fit scripture readings. From my previous post you may remember I am working on reading through the Bible (a particular paper back). As I read, I usually find a specific passage that really stands out and I create an image to go with it, almost as an added cognitive resource to make the verse stick a bit longer, some of these get posted some are just for me..
When looking for a different image on google images, this one caught my eye. Unless you are some kind of "super" Christian, you face temptations each day...each hour...each moment...as I do. There are days when I become so busy in my tasks I have forgotten to hold on to what the Bible says about dealing with temptations. Then I have found myself in the middle of a mind battle, forgetting the access to the arsenal of scripture and Holy Spirit power which is available.
For all of us they are different. No need to do any kind of laundry list here...you know yours...I know mine. Solomon in Ecclesiastes 1:9 reminds us there’s nothing new under the sun...that said...you’re probably not as unique in your struggles as you may feel. But back to the image. The arrows (attacks from the enemy) are coming. You may not see them. They may hit you when you least expect. They may hit you when you are bored, lonely, or winning and on top of things. So what do you do when they come?
‘In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one;’ —Ephesians 6:16. There is so much that can be said about this ‘shied of faith.’ Faith. Do you believe the Lord is who he says he is and he can and will do what he say he can do? If so, don’t live a single moment without this shield of faith in your possession. Have faith that the Lord will guide you, direct you, give you the courage to stand, give you the words to say, provide you the needs that arise. Do you really know the one in whom you place your faith? Go to the scriptures, know them and believe them...let them fuel your faith.
